Raku Experience

This 2 part workshop. The first workshop will be making your raku pots ready for their first firing. We will talk about the techniques and raku in detail(This part will take place at The Clay Place Studio). The second part will be the Raku firing (this will take place in Ayton, just outside of Scarborough).

The raku firing will consist of you choosing your glazes, applying your glazes and putting your pots in the raku kiln with close guidance. You will watch as we ramp the temperature up to reveal your pots from the hot kiln. They will then be put in sawdust to cool until they are ready for you to take out and scrub to find the magic. All safety equipment will be provided.

You will have 2/3 pots to fire depending on the size, a choice of glazes and everything is included in the price.
